Hoe snel denkt hij dat de groene transitie kan gaan voor de chemische basisindustrie?<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6446\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6446\" style=\"width: 249px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6446\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biobasedpress.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Marcel-Wubbolts.jpg\" alt=\"Marcel Wubbolts\" width=\"259\" height=\"195\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6446\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marcel Wubbolts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Volgens Marcel is het voor zo\u2019n groene transitie belangrijk dat bedrijven en overheden goed samenwerken in partnerships. Dan zou de omschakeling wel eens minder tijd kunnen vergen dan de 60 jaar die de industrie nodig heeft gehad om chemicali\u00ebn uit aardolie te maken. &#8216;Biobarnsteenzuur is nu al concurrerend,&#8217; merkte hij op. Twee dagen later, op de Europese conferentie EFIB, bleken de resultaten van zo\u2019n partnership. Het samenwerkingsverband Reverdia (DSM en Roquette Fr\u00e8res) maakte bekend dat het licenties gaat verstrekken voor zijn Biosuccinium proces. Reverdia stelt dus ook anderen in staat, met zijn proces biobarnsteenzuur te maken \u2013 een grondstof voor bioplastics, harsen (verf en coatings) en polyurethanen. Deze stap, zegt Reverdia in zijn persbericht, is belangrijk om de bio-based markt te ontsluiten.<\/p>\n<h2>Groene transitie voor plattelandsontwikkeling<\/h2>\n<p>Marcel Wubbolts meldde overigens dat DSM zich naast biobarnsteenzuur vooral zal richten op tweede generatie alcohol. Volgens hem zal Europa wel 100 fabrieken nodig hebben (liefst allemaal werkend met DSM-POET technologie natuurlijk, net als hun nieuwe fabriek in Iowa, VS). Dat heeft het grote voordeel dat boeren door het leveren van hun bijproducten als bietenbladeren aan die fabrieken, wel 40% meer inkomen zouden kunnen verwerven; en dat op het platteland, dat nu overal ontvolkt, wel 80% meer banen zouden kunnen ontstaan &#8211; aldus Marcel Wubbolts.
