Maar SkyNRG ontwikkelde een krachtig concept waarmee het dit product kan aanbieden in steeds meer luchthavens. Met hun model van financiering en co-creatie kan het bedrijf de brandstof aanbieden voor een aanvaardbare prijs. Het doel is om duurzame vliegtuigbrandstof aan te bieden voor een prijs die concurreert met fossiele brandstof. Wat is het geheim van het bedrijf?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5834\" alt=\"SkyNRG\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biobasedpress.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SkyNRG-04.jpg\" width=\"298\" height=\"199\" \/>De strategie van SkyNRG<\/strong><br \/>\nDuurzame brandstof is de enige manier voor vliegtuigmaatschappijen om hun uitstoot van broeikasgassen sterk terug te brengen. Nog maar vijf jaar geleden leek dit qua prijs niet mogelijk. SkyNRG ontwikkelde een bedrijfsmodel op basis van financiering door vele betrokkenen; en op duurzaam niveau, bewaakt door een onafhankelijke Sustainability Board. Daardoor heeft SkyNRG als enige aanbieder ter wereld zijn hele productieketen kunnen laten certificeren door de Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB). Hun biobrandstof kan tot 80% van de CO2-uitstoot verminderen, vergeleken met fossiele brandstof.<\/p>\n<p>SkyNRG heeft de brandstof (in wisselende mengverhoudingen) geleverd voor honderden korte en lange vluchten overal ter wereld; zij leveren nu aan meer dan 20 maatschappijen in vijf werelddelen. Op de korte termijn zorgt het bedrijf voor betaalbare brandstof door medefinanciering en voldoende schaalgrootte. Voor de lange termijn ontwikkelt het bedrijf Bioports, regionale productieketens waarmee maatschappijen kunnen vliegen op regionaal geproduceerde duurzame brandstof.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De ontwikkeling van Bioports<\/strong><br \/>\nTot nu toe is duurzame vliegtuigbrandstof een duur nicheproduct. Schaalvergroting is essentieel bij het verlagen van de productiekosten, en daarom concentreert het bedrijf zich voor de langere termijn op vergroting van de productiecapaciteit. SkyNRG werkt samen met maatschappijen en luchthavens overal ter wereld om de structuur en marktvraag te scheppen, nodig voor het financieren en vormen van Bioports. Dat gebeurt vanuit de regio. Een Bioport moet de uitstoot van kooldioxide verlagen, en zorgen voor stabiele leveringen en prijzen, en (mogelijke) plattelandsontwikkeling door ingebruikname van marginale gronden en economische groei, als middel om een grotere groep belanghebbenden te betrekken (als overheden, boeren, investeerders, NGO\u2019s).<\/p>\n<p>De grondstof ligt niet vast en kan voor elke Bioport anders zijn. SkyNRG gebruikt de grondstof die het beste voorradig is in de regio. Het bedrijf noemt zich \u2018agnostisch qua technologie\u2019, waarmee het wil zeggen dat het steeds de meest duurzame en betaalbare grondstof\/technologie-combinatie kiest. SkyNRG wil elke combinatie van grondstof en technologie overwegen waarmee het een voldoende duurzaam product kan maken dat voldoet aan de technische specificaties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tien luchthavens<\/strong><br \/>\nSkyNRG wil zijn prijzen snel omlaag brengen, door schaalvergroting en gebruik van nieuwe technologie\u00ebn, en op termijn ook door stimulerende regelgeving. De eerste geregelde verbinding met 20% biobrandstof is nu in de lucht: KLM vliegt elke donderdag met deze mix tussen New York JFK en Amsterdam Schiphol. Binnenkort wil SkyNRG over de hele wereld tenminste tien Bioports in werking hebben. En het bedrijf ontwikkelt zich z\u00f3 snel dat het al duurzame brandstof verkoopt in andere markten. SkyNRG verkoopt duurzame brandstof in bedrijfstakken die alleen door biobrandstof hun uitstoot van kooldioxide kunnen verlagen: luchtvaart, scheepvaart, en zwaar vrachtverkeer. Dochterbedrijven SeaNRG en RoadNRG werden in 2010 opgericht.
