Maar de uitvoering van innovaties rust sterk op de vaardigheden die studenten in het middelbaar en hoger beroepsonderwijs opdoen. In Noord-Nederland hebben ze dat begrepen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4981\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4981\" style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4981\" alt=\"Lupineboon\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biobasedpress.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Lupin-beans1.jpg\" width=\"120\" height=\"90\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4981\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">De lupineboon, een icoon van Healthy Ageing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>De Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG) bijvoorbeeld heeft Biobrug in het leven geroepen. Dit is een organisatie voor kennisoverdracht die bedrijven helpt met concrete vragen op het gebied van groene energie en materialen, waarbij biotechnologie een grote rol speelt. Recent onderzoek van Biobrug heeft aangetoond dat de groene economie al sterk aanwezig is in Noord-Nederland, met een werkgelegenheid van ruim 25.000 mensen.<\/p>\n<p>De eveneens in Groningen gevestigde HanzeHogeschool springt daarop in. Deze wil binnen het Instituut voor Levenswetenschappen en Technologie haar onderzoekprogramma uitbreiden naar bio-inspired en biobased innovaties en daarvoor mogelijk een lector aanstellen. Daarvoor gaat de hogeschool het onderwijsprogramma verrijken met nieuwe (minor) opleidingen. Verder wil deze HBO-instelling investeren in geavanceerde technologie via een veelzijdige proeffabriek voor bioraffinage. Ze noemen de samenwerking tussen onderwijs (MBO, HBO en WO), onderzoek, ondernemers en overheid in deze proeffabriek het viervoudige spiraal (4O) model. Studenten werken samen met ondernemers en onderzoekers voor het bedenken, ontwikkelen en op proefschaal produceren van biobased producten en diensten.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5411\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5411\" style=\"width: 290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5411\" alt=\"Lupine\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biobasedpress.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Lupine3.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5411\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">De boon van een gekweekte lupinesoort is een uitstekende verschaffer van eiwitten in menselijke voeding.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Drie ontwikkelings-richtingen<\/strong><br \/>\nAls kwartiermaker voor deze projecten heeft de Hanzehogeschool Rob van Haren aangesteld. Hij was hiervoor werkzaam als directeur Kiemkracht, een alliantie van het Productschap Akkerbouw en het InnovatieNetwerk van het ministerie van EZ. Kiemkracht heeft onder andere de concepten Vegetarische Slager, Greenfertilizer, SmartBot en LupinSilver ontwikkeld. Rob gaat drie mogelijke ontwikkelingsrichtingen onderzoeken met de nadruk op functionele ingredi\u00ebnten. De eerste richting is groene ingredi\u00ebnten, inhoudsstoffen en procestechnologie voor gezondheid, cosmetica, voeding en leefstijl. Deze richting sluit aan op de Noordelijke sterkte \u2018Healthy Ageing\u2019. De lupine(boon) is hier de icoon. Het doel is, met ingredi\u00ebnten uit lupinebonen, zoals eiwitten en oplosbare voedingsvezels, hoogwaardige voedingsproducten te ontwikkelen voor, bijvoorbeeld, vleesvervangers. De tweede richting betreft ontwikkeling en toepassing van biocomposieten en hoogwaardige biomaterialen. Vlas en hennep zijn veelbelovende natuurvezels voor duurzame vervanging van glasvezel. De derde richting betreft decentraal gebruik van duurzame energie van wind en zon voor kleinschalige productie van grondstoffen zoals groene kunstmest (green fertiliser) en groene brandstof. Hierbij willen ze omgekeerde brandstofceltechnologie ontwikkelen en toepassen.<\/p>\n<p>Hanzehogeschool Groningen wil het mogelijk toekomstige lectoraat zoveel mogelijk laten aansluiten op het Kenniscentrum Ondernemerschap. Zo kunnen ook vanuit de Life Sciences studenten en bedrijven kans krijgen start-ups, nieuwe business en nieuwe producten te ontwikkelen. De Hanzehogeschool wil met dit Levenswetenschappen- en Technologie-programma de groene economie in Noord-Nederland stimuleren en zo bijdragen aan de maatschappelijke transitie naar een duurzame groene cyclische economie.
