\u2018Iedereen kent inmiddels wel het fenomeen Plastic Soep.\u2019 Deze zin hoor ik steeds vaker de laatste tijd. Toch zou ik niet graag diegenen te eten willen geven die er nog niet van gehoord hebben. En nog minder diegenen die ten volle begrijpen wat dit fenomeen nu werkelijk voor onze wereld betekent en voor alle komende generaties eeuwen na ons.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik geef inmiddels steeds vaker voorlichting over de plastic soep, ook voor mensen waarvan je verwacht dat die het toch wel zullen weten: de tweede kamer fractie van GroenLinks, de Nationale Jeugd Raad (afdeling duurzaamheid) en onlangs voor de ICIS in Maastricht (International Centre for Integrated assessment and Sustainable development) en steeds blijkt ca 90% van deze mensen niet op de hoogte van de gevolgen van de plastic soep. In de duurzame top honderd, die onlangs gepubliceerd werd door de Trouw, was er niemand die zich bezighield met de Plastic Soep. Er is dus nog een lange weg te gaan, maar die moeten we snel gaan want iedere 15 seconden komt er zoveel plastic als in deze\u00a0 foto bij in onze oceanen.\"Per<\/p>\n

En in dit filmpje<\/a> wordt prachtig en helder uitgelegd hoe Plastic Soep ontstaat en wat de gevolgen zijn. Ook zie je nog even Jan Andries van Franeker van het Imares instituut, met hem ben ik, onder andere, tijdens de Plastic Soup driedaagse door Nederland gecrost om aandacht voor de Plastic Soup te vragen.
