DESCRIPTION:The 9th edition of the CROP Innovation & Business 2019 conference will take place on April 14-16\, 2019 in the beautiful building of the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in the capital of the Netherlands\, Amsterdam. ´The shifting paradigm in crop innovations´ The most influential trends that will affect agricultural crop innovation and business practices will be addressed. What is the impact of precision farming\, digitalization\, consolidation wave\, economic growth and consumers preference for natural products and sustainable production. Whom to meet: Around 200 delegates (CEOs\, CSOs\, Business executives\, heads of R&D/Biotech\, plant breeders\, legal firms\, key scientists\, policy makers and investors) from the international Agri-Food sector will be present from around 20 countries and representing over a 100 different organisations. \nDuring the conference\, 8 topics will be addressed in separate sessions: \n\nBiotech in seeds and biocontrols\nOrnamentals\nFruit\nVertical farming\, automisation and digitization\nOpen field crops\nVegetable crops\nSpecialty crops\nNutritional crops (protein crops)\n\nInnovator pitches by young-\, promising- and/ or startup innovators\n6 innovator groups\, startups or SMEs will have an opportunity to present their venture\, technology or business case in an elevator pitch of 2 minutes with 6 slides (Pecha Khucha style). The audience will choose the best pitch who will get the opportunity to give an 8 minutes presentation on Tuesday. \nPop Up Pitches\nIn 2 minute sessions anyone with a business or applications idea can take the floor during the conference dinner Monday evening.
